They asked for the tank height before selling me anything. The last shop just asked how many HP.

Put it on its own MCB with an RCCB. The old one was wired straight off the board with nothing.

Questions people ask

Still not sure?

Tell us the tank height, the pipe run and the sump depth. We will size the pump and the protection, before you spend anything.

How do I choose the right size?
By head, not by horsepower. Head is the vertical height the pump must lift plus the friction of the pipe run, and it is what decides whether a pump delivers. A larger motor on the wrong head simply wastes electricity and can still underperform. Give us the tank height above the pump, the total pipe length and the sump depth and we will size it properly.
Monoblock, jet or submersible?
A monoblock sits at ground level and suits a sump or a shallow open well. A jet pump draws from deeper and is used where the water level is beyond a monoblock suction. A submersible sits inside the borewell itself and is for deep bores. If your water source is a borewell, a monoblock is the wrong pump.
What protection does a pump need?
Its own MCB sized for the motor, and an RCCB on the circuit. A starter is separate and is not optional on anything above the smallest sizes. Dry run protection is worth adding, because running dry is what destroys most pumps here, not use. We can specify all of it with the pump.
Why do pumps burn out?
Usually running dry, then voltage problems, then being wrong for the head. A pump that keeps pumping after the sump empties overheats within minutes because there is no water to carry heat away. That is not a manufacturing defect and will not be covered, which is why a dry run cut out is cheap insurance.
Do I need three phase?
Not for a normal domestic pump. Single phase is standard up to the sizes most homes use. Three phase applies to larger installations, apartment blocks and agricultural use, and only where a three phase supply is already sanctioned.
Do you install it?
Installation is arranged separately in Lucknow and is chargeable, and covers both the plumbing and the electrical side. Priming and checking the foot valve before first start is part of it, and skipping that is how a new pump fails on day one.
Can I get a GST invoice?
Yes. Every order comes with a GST invoice. Add your GSTIN in the cart and the invoice is issued in your business name.
